Andre Citroen was a company held the first motorcycle to cross the Sahara in 1922. Five half-track vehicles, strong enough to cross rocky and inhospitable terrain, were the first to journey from Algeria to French West Africa. Galvanised by this exploit, André Citroën was followed by Croisiere Noire in 1924 and in 1931 Croisiere Jaune. The public was captivated by the expedition of Asia and Africa are really adventurous, which is recognized at the time as important economic, humanitarian, scientific and cultural mission.
